2. Mechanism to perform a given function
The articulated quadrilateral has given rise to considerable work
on its use as a function generator. The articulated quadrilateral
realizes the function in implicit form f (j, ψ) = 0. If the function
f (x, y ) = 0 is to be realized, the elements of the quadrilateral
can be chosen to realize a function of the same form.
In this section, we'll determine a quadrilateral to perform the
function exactly at a finite number of points.
