4. Thermomechanical calculation: degree of coupling
The coupling of thermal and mechanical equations often makes them difficult to solve (lack of analytical solutions, convergence problems in calculation codes and excessively long calculation times). We therefore often seek to simplify these equations by reducing their coupling as much as possible.
