2. Diagnosis of Hybrid Dynamical Systems
SDH diagnosis requires consideration of both continuous and discrete dynamics, as well as the interactions between the two. For this reason, these methods must infer their diagnosis from the differences between the observed and nominal continuous behavior in each discrete mode, and from the sequences of discrete events and states.
By taking into account the hybrid aspect of SDH, it is possible to diagnose faults affecting both continuous and discrete dynamics, and to improve the diagnostic capability (called "diagnosability") of faults impacting one of these two dynamics.
