In February 1970, a fire totally destroyed the ATP processing unit at the LA CELLOPHANE plant in Bezons, an enormous multi-storey building that housed laminating, printing and bag shaping.
This brutal shutdown of one of France's biggest film production sites led to a regrouping of national players on the one hand, and to the arrival of other European players (Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany...) who were unwilling, or unable, to enter into conflict with the "big leader".
