3. Classification of additive manufacturing processes
Generally speaking, additive manufacturing processes are classified according to the state of the support material used to build the desired part. All these processes can be classified into four categories:
0D solid materials (powders/grains) ;
1D solid materials (filament) ;
2D solid materials (sheets/plates) ;
suspensions and pastes.
Following this classification, the most common additive manufacturing processes for ceramic parts are presented below.
