1.1 Principle and operation
Auxiliary cranes comprise a jib (generally with two, three or four articulated arms), which can also be telescopic, and a foot (or baseplate) topped by a column, which pivots on the baseplate to allow the crane to rotate (figure 1 ). These cranes are all designed to be mounted on trucks, i.e. on standard forwarders; they can also be mounted on semi-trailers, and much more rarely on trailers 1.3 ...
