4. Typologies of reliability data for determining criticality
Data can be economic, human or technical. Economic data are important for assessing the costs of restoring components to working order, and the costs of preventing component failure. This involves personnel, material and production costs. Data on human factors (FOH) are essential for undertaking long-term corrective action. Technical data are directly linked to equipment reliability. In this chapter, only technical data will be considered.
