The aim of this section is to describe the information and methods used by the investigators to identify the root causes of a plane that caught fire and was completely destroyed on its landing area at Okinawa airport in 2007. It aims to explain the approach taken by the experts, who mainly used collective thinking methods and logical deduction techniques in their search for causes. This example illustrates the formal methods and tools used, which will be discussed in section 3.
