5. Some specific stock determination techniques
Experimental acquisition of data representative of equipment behavior in operation (number of failures observed, nature of these failures, uptime, etc.) often enables a reliability analysis to be carried out, using the most conventional reliability laws (exponential law, Weibull's law, Poisson's law, etc.). This experimental reliability analysis enables us to estimate the probability of needing a given part during a given period, all other things being equal. A well-informed historical record remains the essential basis for this analysis.
