Don't blindly trust the information and explanations given by suppliers in the event of assembly non-conformity:
no, suppliers don't necessarily give you the right explanations: they're there to sell! If you have a problem with an assembly, get them involved and ask them for the analyses you need, before interpreting them yourself;
do your own investigation - it has to be global. Change your point of view, put yourself in the place of the material, the operator or the machine, and your conclusions will be the right ones.
