Choosing materials based on their electrical performance

When it comes to assessing electrical performance, it's difficult to speak of a choice. On the contrary, it's often a case of eliminating certain materials.

We could even say that it's the electrical performance/price pairing that will be the selection criterion, as it's true that this last element will weigh as much in the balance as the purely technical criterion.

In many cases, mechanical characteristics will be the first criterion taken into account. In any case, the order is irrelevant. In any case, and even if it means repeating ourselves ad infinitum, it's important to be able to predict what these characteristics will be after reasonable aging, i.e. comparable to the targeted lifetime of the equipment. It's better to be satisfied with modest, long-lasting performance than with an extraordinary starting point and mediocre durability....
