4. Take into account dimensional constraints related to molding or demolding
The dimensional constraints associated with molding and demolding are not identical depending on the material chosen, and you'll need to take this into account in your calculations.
When molding thermosets, for example, you will experience shrinkage due to the reaction of the material during molding, in a press or on contact. You'll need to measure this shrinkage, and take it into account when making the mold. Control this shrinkage by always using the same process (same catalyst dose, same temperature, same molding methods).
In the case of thermoplastics, parts are demolded when they are still hot. If the part is undersized, there's a risk that it will still be too hot at the time of demolding, and will therefore deform. Conversely, an oversized part will increase cycle times (because the greater the quantity...
