Elaboration of standards for plastic welding in France
The state of standardization in plastic boilermaking

Major customers such as EDF, GDF..., semi-finished product manufacturers such as Rehau, Plasson, Georg Fischer, Pipelife, Ineos, Innoge PE Industrie, Ryb..., chemists such as Total, Sabic, Arkema, Borealis..., are involved in standardization committees concerning welded thermoplastic assemblies.

These commissions are primarily concerned with high-risk sectors such as pressure equipment, gaseous fuels, construction, nuclear and chemical industries...

There are few, if any, industrial boilermakers and no real experts in thermoplastics welding involved in these standards committees. This is why, for plastic boilermaker practitioners, standards seem detached from reality, often inapplicable and in any case poorly perceived.

They would be very useful to French manufacturers.
