5. Mistakes to avoid
If it isn't possible to replace your initial matrix with a biopolymer, you may consider mixing the two. In this case, it would be unwise to introduce a biodegradable polymer into a polymer that is not (except in specific cases). In fact, the advantage of biodegradable polymers is their potential to degrade without having a harmful impact on the environment. The "facilitated" end-of-life of biodegradable polymers will then lose its interest if they are treated like traditional polymers (recycling, incineration...).
