7. Our advice

The use of subcontractors to manufacture models and prototypes is a high-risk activity; in your choice, you must take particular care to ensure the subcontractor's QCD compliance:

  • Quality: does he have the means to supply you with parts that meet your expectations? But did you yourself supply the right information (drawings, CAD, materials), or even specifications?

  • Costs: a joint estimate is essential. A good service is paid for at a fair price. It's a win-win situation.

  • Deadlines: "prototypes always arrive late", "it's the schedule shifting machine". You have to make sure your order is "on top of the pile"!

  • In other words, you need to keep an eye on subcontractors for prototypes. The easiest way to do this is to visit them:
