4. What can we conclude?
As we have seen throughout this data sheet, the "precision" of measuring instruments is only a small part of the problem of measurement in an industrial context. In fact, measurement quality depends on a large number of parameters, not just the quality of the instrument itself. Even if it's sometimes hard to admit, and whatever the strategy adopted, there's a risk of error in the decision we have to assume. The aim of metrology in the company is not to eliminate it (impossible), but to make it acceptable and control it.
At a time when the first descriptions of the company of tomorrow, the so-called 4.0 company, are beginning to take shape, it's important to integrate certain principles today that are almost taken for granted....
