5. Mistakes to avoid
Neglecting to specify tasks: functional specification tasks must be carried out with the utmost care, taking care to characterize the interface tasks between product parts (mechanical, electrical and software design) which will in part be carried out by external resources.
Not to cover risks linked to intellectual property: the designers' own and joint results will have to be identified in a consortium agreement prior to carrying out the design project. The sharing of benefits arising from these results must be defined.
