The first disruptions to capacity occur during the industrialization phase, i.e. when "series" production resources are used to finalize product development, and verify product/process suitability.
There are two types of costs associated with industrialization:
production at throughputs, rates or unit times that are often degraded compared to existing products, and generally not known with any certainty;
increase in series changes and/or changeover time.
These two parameters will also be the main factors to be taken into account in the load/capacity analysis during the production launch phase.
