5. Mistakes to avoid
Choosing a designer or an agency for its reputation can be disastrous if the designer thinks he's an artist who's going to please himself with beautiful shapes, and if he doesn't carry out the study taking into account all the industrial, economic and functional aspects of the product.
Often, an agency is presented by its sales representative, who develops attractive arguments. The mistake is to base your decision solely on this contact, and not to take the time to meet the "creatives" who are the real people involved in the study, and who will give you a much more real and pragmatic vision of the work that will be carried out.
All designers are, or should be, creative, coming up with original ideas; so don't focus solely on innovation or creativity, but listen to technical arguments and demonstrations of manufacturing and materials skills....
