In terms of built space, taking duration into account involves coordinating the concurrent variation of three factors:

• the end user may, over time, change their behavior as a result of personal experience, but also due to shifts in their expectations stemming from new choices (career path, family circumstances, etc.);

• the activities supported by the built environment may also evolve;
