AV was born in the United States as a result of post-war reflection. During the war, industry was faced with resource shortages for certain materials (copper, alloying elements for steel). It had to come up with new and different solutions (using little or none of these elements) to meet its needs. It was understandable that this would make the products more expensive, but sometimes the results were very good, and the costs lower. This was becoming abnormal!
