Philosophy and engineering: reciprocal contributions

The idea, defended in this article, is that philosophical analysis and reflection can no longer remain on the periphery of engineers' concerns. And conversely, if philosophy has hitherto paid insufficient attention to engineering, or only in a critical way, the time has come for it to consider technology and engineering as phenomena and objects of study. Philosophy must therefore propose a reasonable collaboration that can no longer be based on suspicion. To do so, it must not seek to accentuate a defense system represented by culture against the development of technology, but rather free itself from the view that technology would pose a threat to our ancient forms of culture.
