4.1 Pure MRP management
The CONWIP flow control technique is not an alternative to the MRP method, but a complementary contribution to improve its efficiency. Figure 27 describes the management of a BOM compound using the MRP technique: OFs are issued by calculating requirements according to the master production schedule and the state of stocks and work-in-progress, then pushed onto the line as soon as the components are available.
