5. Environmental, safety and maintenance constraints
For the different types of device mentioned, there are numerous possibilities for installation, both inside and outside buildings (on the ground or overhead). Most are designed with support points with fixing or anchoring holes.
In the case of all or partly pit-mounted devices, as is often the case with bucket elevators, particular attention must be paid to ensuring access for the foot crew, while preserving sufficient space for the dismantling and reassembly of mechanical components. Whatever the machine, it is imperative to have safe access to all components for periodic maintenance and replacement.
Particular care will be taken to ensure that devices installed inside and outside buildings are watertight, to avoid soiling and the risk of pollution.
