A fluidized channel is defined here as any transfer area system consisting of a single or compartmentalized box, fed by a fan and pierced at the top by orifices, with or without valves, through which air escapes. Any flat-bottomed object resting on the table creates a cushion of air between itself and the table, provided the caisson's supply pressure is sufficient. The object's height of flight obviously depends on the flow supplied at this pressure.
