8. Accessories for carts
These are added elements, either permanently installed or removable, which play only an auxiliary role in handling operations. A distinction is made between protective devices and miscellaneous accessories.
8.1 Protective devices
Overhead guard: designed to protect the operator from falling objects, it is compulsory on all ride-on trucks with lifts of over 1.80 m.
Load-bearing backrest: designed to prevent transported objects from falling.
Protective cab: fitted mainly on trucks working outdoors, it is designed to protect the driver from the elements. Creating a cab that provides satisfactory working conditions is a difficult task. Not only must the driver be protected against the elements (rain, wind, snow, dust, cold), but also against the noise and vibrations generated...
