1. Understanding concepts
First and foremost, it is essential to understand the various terms used to describe the components of measurement uncertainty. In Metrology, the definitions are given in a document known as the VIM (Vocabulaire International de la Métrologie). This document is reproduced in its entirety in the form of an ISO standard, then included in the French AFNOR collection under the reference NF ISO/CEI Guide 99 (2011).
VIM defines repeatability in accordance with definition 2.21.
