The most commonly used temperature sensor principles are as follows.

Thermoelectric effect (figure 41)
The most common thermocouples are :
type T (copper/constantan) ;
type J (iron/constantan) ;
type K (chromel/alumel) ;
type E (chromel/constantan) ;
S-type (platinum-rhodium 10%/platinum) ;
type R (platinum-rhodium 13%/platinum).
