Designing a station as a multimodal interchange means organizing pedestrian space at the crossroads of transport infrastructures.
The study of a station project is therefore divided into seven phases, sometimes sequential, often iterative, but always interdependent:
the spatial layout of infrastructure for the various modes of transport;
organization of pedestrian flows;
the design of spaces for travellers and visitors ;
installation of services, shops and operating premises, and related programs;
structural approach and environmental comfort ;
the symbolic dimension;
the station area.
