3.1.1 International legislation applicable to ships and crews
The 1974 International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) defines the safety and security regulations applicable to ships. Part C contains provisions for the construction and equipment of ships carrying liquefied gases in bulk and gas carriers in compliance with the International Gas Carrier Code (IGC Code). LNG carriers must comply with SOLAS regulations and the IGC Code.
