4. Conclusion
While France, Belgium, Denmark, Norway and Sweden have set up registers of data supplied by manufacturers on the nanosubstances they import or market, the European Commission has preferred to adjust sector-specific regulations rather than draw up regulations specific to nanotechnologies. In this area in particular, the tendency to interweave different regulatory registers seems to have been reinforced, the implicit aim no doubt being to draw up regulations that are rich enough to grasp the issues raised in all their diversity and complexity.
