1. Background on induction heating and experimental protocol
The principle of induction heating is based on the fact that a conductive material through which an electric current flows (e.g. a solenoid) is the seat of a magnetic field. If this magnetic field can be varied (working with alternating current, for example) and swept over a second current-carrying material in a closed loop, it will be possible to measure a potential difference across the latter. The current thus created is called "induced current or eddy current" (see figure

). The current thus created always opposes the one that gave rise to it.
