Dividing a complex prompt into several stages helps to clarify expectations at each stage. Each sub-section can be dealt with more precisely, reducing the risk of misunderstandings or incomplete answers. It's also worth noting that some generative AI interfaces can limit the length of prompts, often to a few thousand characters, to guarantee a coherent and relevant response.

In addition, successive steps ensure that each aspect of a task is completed before moving on to the next. If this is not the case, an intermediate instruction can be reformulated to obtain the expected result.
