Any approach to producing measurements can only be understood in relation to its application environment and its specific characteristics. What standards apply? Who are the players? What is at stake? What methods and tools should be used? What areas of training should be developed in citizen science? These are just some of the questions that metrologists, researchers and project managers are considering.
