Transportation is one of the most environmentally-pressured sectors. Despite positive developments over the last few decades, particularly in terms of local pollution, its track record is still not sustainable. Particularly when it comes to consumption of non-renewable resources and GHG emissions, which have an impact on climate change. Without rapid and substantial changes to the way we organize our society, the security of humanity will be jeopardized, for example by migratory phenomena generated by rising sea levels, desertification, soil degradation and changes in access to food resources
