4. Understanding how it works
Connected objects are equipped with sensors that have a unique identifier, such as an IP address or a domain name on the Internet, enabling them to be identified in the connected object ecosystem. Connected objects have sensors that transform the data collected into data that can be sent remotely to another connected object or to a smartphone.
All these sensors communicate with each other, using standards such as WiFi or Bluetooth. The challenge of securing communications and standardizing data is a major one. Indeed, interoperability is one of the major problems facing these objects.
