Healthcare and IoT: from functional constraints to practical implementations

Healthcare players will have to organize themselves in virtual networks within an IoT with common characteristics:

• data transmitted by a large number of objects, but in small packets, at low bit rates;

• low latency: information must often be in real time;

• low power consumption for the object (clean operation, communication) and low radio capacities ;

• very low connectivity costs, low-power network ;

• good indoor coverage.

The network must be able to support a very large number of low-speed connected devices. It must be able to make connections in multiple locations, both at home and on the move, as soon as possible.
