Healthcare and IoT: strong trends, the start of multiple developments

The healthcare sector, in particular, is playing a characteristically driving role in current developments (see The rise of connected objects: Introduction [FIC 1509] ). Concerning the entire population and a wide range of activities, health is a growing concern for our society. Several factors are contributing to this trend:
