Observing and representing uses

Observation and representation of usage really enable us to enter into the process of identifying and analyzing existing problems and usages, a process that is essential for identifying areas of innovation, also known as pockets of value in the Radical Innovation Design® methodology. A pocket of value is the combination of a use and a problem not or poorly covered by existing solutions, and whose interest is justified by the importance of the problem (for example, is the problem frequent and its consequences disastrous? ) or the size of the application (for example, is the population concerned large?). In order to develop radical innovations driven by usage and the utility created (reduction of "pains" or problems), physical observation is essential in these problematic usage situations.
