1. Identify reference sources
The first step is to identify the producers of "first-hand" information about the sector you're interested in: companies in the sector, reference organizations, trade magazines, professional associations, trade shows, etc. General press articles are sometimes insufficient to cover a complex subject, but you can rely on the sources mentioned there to go into greater depth on the subject.
General or thematic Web site directories, very popular in the early days of the Web, have unfortunately disappeared or are now obsolete. There are, however, many specialized portals that bring together sources related to a given subject or sector. This is the case, for example, of the Cismef portal, maintained by Rouen University Hospital, which brings together high-quality French-language resources in the field of health.
