"Watching is pointless: we're all watchers". The shock argument. The one that hurts and too often leaves you speechless.
Playing the devil's advocate, we'd be tempted to say that too many intelligence professionals have also had a questionable positioning and skills updating that too often underestimated the evolution of knowledge-based professions.
At the end of the day, having to contend with savvy Google users who effortlessly find documents that some watchers will never find is a problem.
The solutions are simple:
Keeping up to date. There's no arguing with that. The information professions are evolving too fast. Information moves too fast. Software evolves just as fast. Information professionals need to have a logic of continuous training and take into consideration all information, not just some comfortable, cushy databases. It's important...
