2.1.1 Rail transport
The SNCB (Société Nationale des Chemins de Fer Belges) rail service consists of a series of lines linking Brussels to other major cities in the country (figure 9). The main train lines linking the Brussels-Capital Region to other strategic cities in the country are as follows: Ostend/Ghent; Namur; Courtrai; Liège; Tournai; Antwerp; Mons; Dendermonde; Charleroi.
