2. Thermal conductance of glazing: heat transfer coefficient
The thermal conductance of the space between the glasses depends on the characteristics of the gas and the emissivity of the facing surfaces.
Knowing these conductances enables us to calculate the heat loss coefficient U
g
which corresponds to the transmission of thermal energy between the interior and exterior. The lower this coefficient, the more insulating the glazing.
