The case presented demonstrates the value of an approach based
on two types of mass spectrometry as a screening and quantification
tool during acute mass bee deaths. In 2016 and 2017, the national
MMAA surveillance system recorded 147 declarations from 50 departments
and 195 from 52 departments respectively. In total for these two years,
eleven cases of confirmed acute intoxication were identified. Probable
cases of intoxication, substances and prohibited uses were also identified
as a result of the investigations carried out.
