History
Bletchley Park, in the UK, was a historical landmark: during the Second World War, when the UK was the only state to face the Axis in 1940 and 1941, cryptography was used to decipher important secrets from Adolf Hitler's Germany, thanks to the major contribution of Alan Turing. These included Enigma and the Lorenz machine. In a way, it was a question of reconciling security and ethics, insofar as the Axis was supposed to constitute the forces of "Evil".
