3. Implementation of biomass-assisted water electrolysis

Studies carried out in a three-electrode electrochemical cell demonstrated that the Pt 9 Bi 1 /C anode catalyst showed better activity than the others towards the glucose oxidation reaction. They also showed that this catalyst allowed the formation of carboxylated compounds and did not lead to C-C bond breakage at low electrode potential, so could be highly selective towards gluconate production.
