High entropy multi-component alloys - Concepts, microstructures and mechanical properties

The single-phase AHEs most studied experimentally can be classified into two main families (table 1):

• those composed of transition metals forming a face-centered cubic (cfc) solid solution;

• those composed of refractory metals forming a cubic-centered (cc) solid solution.

Each of these families includes quaternary and quinary alloys, both equimolar and non-equimolar. The list in table 1 includes compositions that have been developed to a stable state and thoroughly characterized. This list is not exhaustive.
