6. The stability of perovskites and devices

6.1 Thermodynamic Stability of Phases

Phase stability depends primarily on temperature, pressure, and the ionic radii of the constituent cations and anions. Although pressure remains nearly constant at the Earth’s surface, temperature variations can induce distortions in the crystal lattice and losses of symmetry. Figure22 lists the structural phase transitions and symmetries of 3D APbI3 perovskites, where A = FA, MA, or Cs.
