4. Conclusion
This article presents a set of problems and solutions related to the engineering of interactive systems, including mission-critical systems. To go beyond the current focus on new interaction techniques (how to interact with new physical devices, how to bridge the physical and electronic worlds...), the approach presented here puts forward consolidation work, the aim of which is to provide the means to make interaction techniques reliable, and thus to move from demonstration prototypes to interaction techniques reliable enough to be used in operations in a critical domain.
