The conceptual model in OOHDM comprises a set of classes (defined by their attributes and behaviors) and their relationships using UML. Defining classes is not an easy task, even for "conventional" software. Yet the information gathered from use cases and UIDs can help identify basic information classes that can be refined later. We now give a set of guidelines for deriving classes from UIDs and illustrate this approach using the UID in figure 8 (find the movie).
